What are requirement of IATF-16949
Well here IATF 16949 is QMS standard itself and its requirements are described under 10 clause of its manual. So all clauses of IATF-16949 are requirement of IATF-16949.

What is ISO?
ISO-international organization for standardization is worldwide federation of national standards bodies [which are also known as ISO members bodies], responsible for standardization for various sectors. Their are many ISO standard which were published by ISO with help of different technical committee , same for ISO 9001-2015, one technical committee ISO/TS 176 is responsible. Which cover Quality management system and Quality assurance under this Document.
Right now ISO 9001-2015 is in its 5th edition, while IATF-16949 is in 4th edition.
So IATF-16949 is just part of ISO 9001-2015, all requirement of IATF 16949 become requirement of ISO 9001-2015 by default.
What are changes in 5th edition of ISO 9001-2015?
It revised quality management principles & new concepts. Also replaced technical corrigendum ISO 9001-2008/Cor:1:2009.
What is ISO 9001-2015?
This is QMS standard which is about strategic decision for an organization that can help to improve its overall performance.
ISO 9001-2015 is family of QMS which contains set of standards, that help an organization to ensure that they meet the customer requirements for product and services.
Benefits of ISO 9001-2015
This standard employs process approach along with Quality management principles. By process approach mean here PDCA and risk base thinking.
- PDCA cycle enables an organization to ensure its process are adequately resources & managed , and opportunities for improvement are determined acted on.
- By Risk base thinking organization will determine factors that could cause its process and its QMS to deviated from planned results to put in place preventive controls to minimize negative effect.

Process Approach:_
This standard ISO-9001 2015 says organization should have a process approach when developing, implementing and improving the QMS to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirement.
So ultimate aim of process approach is to meet customer requirement and obtaining intended result in accordance with quality policy. This aim of process approach can be achieve using PDCA [Plan do check act] and Risk base thinking.

- Consistency in meeting requirement

PDCA–
PDCA can be applied to QMS as a whole, clause 4 to 10 can be grouped in PDCA cycle.

Risk base thinking–
Aim of adopting risk base thinking is to achieve an effective quality management system by carrying out preventive action to eliminate Non conformity. To achieve this aim organization will plan and implement actions to address risk and opportunities.
Benefits of Risk base thinking–
- Effectiveness of QMS increases
- Achieve improved result
- Preventing non conformity throughout the process
Relation with Other Management System standard–
ISO 9001-2015 enables an organization to use the process approach, couple with PDCA cycle and risk base thinking to align and integrate its quality management system with requirement of other management system requirement.
So in introduction section of IATF 16949, i have explained ISO 9001-2015, whenever ISO 9001-2015 related point will come while doing self training program for IATF, that point will be explained from reference standard very properly.
